Thoreson’s Ready Mix trucks have arrived and delivered our first pour of concrete. The concrete crews have formed up and poured out the new footings and foundations for the addition.
The site work crew has started to blast rock on the backside of the hospital for the new patient wing addition. See video.
Beginning Tuesday, September 8, CCNSHCC will close the Care Center entrance and parking area accessed off of West 5th Street for construction.
Please access the Care Center using the 5th Avenue West Entrance through the “Delivery Entrance”. Temporary signs will be posted.
For further information on changes to traffic patterns and parking, please continue to check back in on the blog-site. Information will also be available on Boreal and WTIP.
We apologize for the inconvenience this planned construction may cause the Care Center visitors and community, and we appreciate your patience while we work to complete this important project.
Hard to believe that the Groundbreaking Ceremony was over a month ago. Where has the summer gone? The construction team has mobilized to the site and is in the old lodge. Here are some additional – professional photographer – photos of groundbreaking.
Well, we’ve officially started ! On Thursday July 23rd, 2015, the North Shore Hospital and Care Center hosted a Groundbreaking Ceremony to kick-off the start of construction for the new additions and renovations. Many were in attendance from the hospital, the care center, the clinic, the Mayor of Grand Marias, representatives from Amy Klobochar’s office, DSGW Architects, The Boldt Company, USDA and AgStar. After several stories and comments at the podium to mark the groundbreaking occasion, several groups helped shovel some dirt to commemorate the start of construction. Afterwards, people went over to the care center and enjoyed ice cream.
