Tie-ins have been created to get ready for more progress at the hospital. The cafe area is now used as it was designed, but sections like the utility room, quiet room and old kitchen have been demolished.
The changes are happening fast now! You can really tell how the hallway in the Hospital is going to look. The cabinetry for the nutrition center has been added. We have doors, ceiling grid, sinks, and tile in some of the new patient bathrooms.
Some of the walls are boarded and doors are getting installed.
The Minnesota Department of Health inspected the new hallway and kitchen and were certified for occupancy. With the new hallway open, crews quickly started demolition of the old 300 wing. Signs are appearing around the hallways, routing people to the new hallway. The Chamber of Commerce went on a tour Friday, January 6 of the new areas.
The past few days have seen some exciting progress as more equipment is being placed in the new kitchen. Also, in the hospital addition, the crews are installing the wood casework in the patient rooms. You’ll see one picture featuring a patient headwall that sits behind the patient beds that will receive hook ups for med gases, vacuum, nurse call, lights, etc.

Patient rooms are getting wood casework installed
Happy New Year to all and hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable holiday. This year’s Chinese New Year is the year of the rooster, being the sign of dawn and awakening, triumph and success can only be achieved at the price of hard work and patience in 2017. We are looking forward to a year of success in completing the new additions and remodeling. Crews are close to finishing up the new kitchen and turning over to the CCNSHCC staff. Progress continues on the new hospital addition. The crews are painting the metal doorways and rooms.
Unlike last year at this time, the construction crews are busy working inside. The kitchen is almost ready for use. The new dishwasher has been installed and we expect the kitchen to be open after the first of the New Year. The new hallway corridor continues to receive it’s finishes – wall protectors, paint, ceiling tiles and should also be open after the first of the year. The new patient rooms have been sheet rocked, taped and sanded and will be ready for paint. The old activity room floor has been excavated and roughed in with new underground piping for the future residence spa. The crews continue work on the new roof trusses over the future Care center Resident’s kitchen and dining room.

Finishing work continues on the kitchen and serving area; tiling, acoustical ceilings, sheetrock ceiling features, recessed lights. The beauty shop is progressing in the Care Center. New trusses over the Care Center household kitchens are being placed. The old roof is being demolished and trusses for the new one (different height) are being installed.
All over the Care Center and Hospital, new hallways are close to completion and making ready for the old hallways to be demolished and renovated. The crews are making good progress on the future hallway connecting the hospital to the new Care Center entrance. The kitchen area continues to receive it’s finishes. On the northwest side of the hospital addition, they continue to put up sheetrock, taping and painting – hallways and rooms. As old space is demolished the crews are standing up new studs for more new rooms. The new 200 Care Center Wing is coming along, studs are up, you can tell where rooms will be located and MEP rough-ins are moving along.
The site work crews have been working on the new storm water retention ponds adjacent to the parking lots. Progress continues on the Care Center wing remodel and new hallways. The patient wing rooms are being sheet rocked. There is some intricate demolition going on between the old roof and new roof on the Care Center.
The kitchen area is getting ceiling tile grids and the floors are being tiled. The patient rooms in the new hospital addition are getting their windows, insulation, drywall, rough-ins for electrical, oxygen and vacuum. Demo continues on the north side of the old 300 Care Center Wing.
